As a participant or as a member of the audience, you’ll have fun testing your expertise in wildlife trivia at the 20th Annual Student Quiz Bowl in Albuquerque!
Calling all wildlife undergraduates! Are you and your classmates getting ready for the Quiz Bowl in Albuquerque? Registration for the competition this year will close before most universities are back in session this fall! Registration will open on Monday, May 1, and close at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, August 6. Registrations submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
Quiz Bowl is a fast-paced wildlife knowledge competition between teams of four undergraduates (including an alternate, five students can be on a team). It pitches teams against each other to see who can rack up the most points answering questions ranging from taxonomy to wildlife management. Last year, more than 20 teams engaged in a highly competitive contest. The winning team gets its name emblazoned on a plaque that hangs at TWS headquarters and also receives a plaque to display at its school.
Following successful introduction of some innovations during the Raleigh conference, we will separate the Quiz Bowl into three portions, both Monday and Tuesday, September 25-26. The bulk of the competition will occur on Monday, from 3-10 p.m. Our final four teams will then compete in a round robin-style event starting at 3 p.m. Tuesday followed by the final two matches starting at 6 p.m. All rounds of the competition will be held in the beautiful Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center. Come join us and cheer for your alma mater or your favorite team!
Minor changes to question topics are being implemented in 2017; no new topics have been added, we’ve just changed the topic distribution.
