STUDENT TRAVEL GRANTS

Travel grants of up to $500 will be awarded to a limited number of students.

The Wildlife Society announces the availability of travel grants for TWS student members presenting a technical paper or poster at the Society’s Annual Conference held each fall. Travel grants of up to $500 will be awarded to a limited number of students.
 
Guidelines
To be eligible, an individual’s paper/poster first must be accepted for presentation by the Program Committee, the organizer of a TWS-sanctioned symposium, or poster session.

Applications and all supporting materials for student travel grants must be received by June 13, 2017.

Please note, grant recipients must pay the appropriate conference registration fee by the early registration deadline, July 15, in order to receive their funding.
 
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following eligibility standards:

  • A member of The Wildlife Society (if not already a member, join here)
  • A current student, or recent graduate (degree received during 2016 or 2017)
  • Senior author and presenter of the accepted paper or poster
  • Not a recipient of a Student Travel Grant in previous year

 
Application
Completed application via OASIS–online submission which includes:

  1. Projected conference travel expenses
  2. Budget showing any other potential travel funding
  3. Abstract of paper/poster
  4. Draft text of poster or PowerPoint presentation to be presented

 
Deadline
The deadline for applications to be received is June 13, 2017. All applicants will be notified of action taken by July 10. Grant recipients must pay the appropriate conference registration fee by the early registration deadline, July 15, in order to receive their funding. Please contact Mariah Simmons, msimmons@wildlife.org, with questions regarding the travel grant application.
